Akyokuş Tabiat Parkı
Located at the Akyokuş locality in the Meram district of Konya, Akyokuş Nature Park is a 21.57-hectare natural area only six kilometers from the city center. Declared a nature park in 2011, the area offers an easily accessible getaway for those wishing to escape the busy pace of the city and catch their breath. Black pine and almond trees dominate the park's sparsely textured forests; planted species such as fir, maple, ash, birch and rose accompany them. Alongside mammals such as fox, squirrel, wild hare and hedgehog, birds such as the kestrel, buzzard, woodpecker and magpie also live in the area. The area features a car park, a fountain, a tea garden, a country coffee house, a prayer room, gazebos, a children's playground, a country restaurant, picnic units, a viewing terrace and walking paths. Suitable for day picnics, hiking and cycling, the park serves its visitors with a café facility run by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality.
