Alacadağ Tabiatı Koruma Alanı
Located in the Finike district of Antalya, the 427-hectare Alacadağ Nature Conservation Area, declared in 1990, harbors a rare ecosystem with its unspoiled natural fabric and monumental trees. Home to more than twenty tree species, the area's principal resource value lies in its old cedar and maple communities; Turkish red pine, ash, Greek strawberry tree, prickly juniper and gall oak also complete the forest fabric. Within the protected area live mammals such as the lynx, wild boar, fox, Anatolian squirrel and wild hare, together with species such as the chukar partridge, long-legged buzzard and lesser spotted eagle. There are no facilities in the area, which is entirely covered with forest. Due to its conservation status, entry to and exit from the area are prohibited; it can be visited only with special permits for scientific research and educational purposes. The area, about 10-15 km from Finike, is reached via Finike.
