Aydıncık (İncekum) Tabiat Parkı - Mersin
Located on the seashore at the foot of the Taurus Mountains in the Aydıncık district of Mersin, Aydıncık (İncekum) Nature Park was declared a nature park in 2011 with its area of 27.71 hectares. Bordered on one side by Turkish pine forest and on the other by the deep-blue waters of the Mediterranean and a beach, the park offers nature and the sea together. The Mediterranean maquis formed by Turkish pine, strawberry tree, myrtle, laurel and carob is home to small mammals such as hare, red fox and marten. Shorebirds and various reptiles also enrich the region's natural life. The area is suitable for day beach use and hiking. The park, 2 km from the district center of Aydıncık, is reached by driving about 1 km along an asphalt road that branches off toward the sea from the D-400 Mersin-Antalya highway. Located 173 km from Mersin and 50 km from Anamur, the park can be combined with Gilindire Cave, 7.5 km east of the district, and visited as a cave-and-beach route. The most pleasant period is between May and October, when the sea water warms up.
