Ballıca Mağarası Tabiat Parkı
Located near Ballıca Village in Tokat's Pazar district, Ballıca Cave Nature Park was declared in 2007 and its boundaries were later expanded to reach 485 hectares. Taking its name from the village right beside it, the park is famous for its magnificent cave, whose formation dates back approximately 4 million years. About 680 meters long and 90-95 meters high, consisting of 5 levels and 8 chambers, Ballıca Cave is considered one of the finest examples of its kind in the world with its rare onion-shaped stalactites, curtain travertines, sedimentation pools and column formations. The cave has been added to the UNESCO Tentative List. With rich vegetation formed by broad-leaved trees such as maple, hornbeam and sessile oak, the park is a destination waiting to be explored for cave tourism, guided tours, nature hiking and cycling. It is reached by turning off toward the Pazar district at the 23rd kilometer of the Tokat-Amasya highway. The park is open to visitors every day between 08:00 and 20:00 and entry is subject to a fee; daily pedestrian entry is 60 TL, car entry 180 TL, and a guided cave visit 120 TL.
