Boraboy Gölü Tabiat Parkı
Located in Amasya's Taşova district at an altitude of 1,050 meters, Boraboy Gölü Nature Park, with its 255-hectare area, possesses a rich diversity of plants and animals. Boraboy Lake is one of the landslide-dam lakes found in limited numbers in Turkey. The northern slopes of the area are covered by forests of species such as oriental beech, black pine, Scots pine and Turkey oak, while on the southern slopes these give way to mixed shrub communities. The park, home to roe deer, hares, foxes, wild boar and squirrels, also hosts many resident and migratory bird species; partridge, turtle dove, blackbird, nightingale, heron and stork are among these species. Walking routes around the lake, cycling tours, nature excursions, rowboat rides on the lake and angling offer visitors time immersed in nature; there is also a country restaurant in the area. The park is reached from Amasya via the Taşova route; it is 3 km from Boraboy village, 22 km from the Taşova district and 62 km from the Amasya city center.
