Çatak Kanyonu Tabiat Parkı
Declared a nature park in 2017, the 420-hectare Çatak Canyon Nature Park is set on extremely rugged topography in the southwest of Sinop's Türkeli district. The elevation rises from the lowest point of 420 meters in the north up to 1,611 meters in the southwestern and southeastern parts; the average elevation of the area is about 1,005 meters. The park's main attraction is its deep canyon structure and the 39 waterfalls hidden within it. Rich in natural resource value with its caves and karst formations, the canyon constitutes an entirely natural habitat. Walking and climbing among the waterfalls, nature exploration along the canyon and cave excursions await visitors. The park, about 33 km from the Türkeli district center, is reached from the district via two different routes. The nearest airport is Sinop Airport, about 88 km away. There is no public transport access to the area.
