Danişment Tabiat Parkı
Located 34 kilometers from the Keşan district of Edirne, within the boundaries of the village of Danişment and on the shore of the Gulf of Saros, Danişment Nature Park offers sea and forest scenery together across its 34-hectare area. Accessible by sea as well as by road, the park is 254 kilometers from Istanbul and 144 kilometers from the city center of Edirne. With its extensive camping infrastructure, the park contains 90 caravan units and 72 tent pitches. A restaurant, a market, a country restaurant, fountains and a sanitary facility complex meet visitors' daily needs. The vegetation is mostly oak; black locust and oleaster trees are also found in places. The park is particularly valuable for birdwatching. Hundreds of bird species are seen around nearby Lake Gala, and in the winter months the region hosts tens of thousands of waterfowl. Species such as swans, cranes, kingfishers and hoopoes make up the area's rich fauna.
