Eğil Peygamberler Tabiat Parkı
Declared a nature park in 2017, the 134.1-hectare Eğil Peygamberler Nature Park is located in the Eğil district of Diyarbakır. It takes its name from the tombs of Nebî Zülkifl, Nebî Elyesa and Nebî Harun, which stand immediately adjacent to it and welcome thousands of visitors every year; in this respect, it is an area of high natural as well as spiritual value. Dominated by oak and almond, the park is home to more than a hundred plant species, including spurge, rose, oleander and squill. Creatures such as the chukar partridge, hawk, woodpecker, goldfinch and squirrel can also be observed in the area. Arranged for hiking, cycling tours and nature excursions, the park has been planned with the aim of letting visitors get to know the natural environment up close. Access is by private vehicle. The park is 4 km from the Eğil district center and 44 km from the Diyarbakır city center, and connects to the Diyarbakır-Elazığ highway via the Eğil road.
