Güvercinlik Tabiat Parkı
Located in the Güvercinlik locality of Muğla's Milas district, Güvercinlik Nature Park was declared a nature park in 2011. Its boundaries have been updated several times over the years, and with the latest revision the area reached a size of 2.65 hectares. It stands out with its unique sea view and panoramic sunset. In the park, dominated by a forest ecosystem, Turkish red pine, kermes oak, olive, Greek strawberry tree, and Mediterranean maquis flora cover large areas. At different times of the year, 118 plant, 36 bird, and 19 mammal species can be observed in the surroundings; squirrels, hedgehogs, Eurasian jays, herring gulls, and tortoises are a few of them. The area also lies within a third-degree archaeological site. The park is situated on the Milas-Bodrum D-330 highway, near the Mumcular junction. It is 10 km from Mumcular, 33 km from Milas, and 20 km from Bodrum. The Güvercinlik stop can also be reached by public transport operating on the Milas-Bodrum route.
