Harmankaya Tabiat Parkı (Yalova)
Located in Yalova's Termal district, on the road between Üvezpınar Village and Sudüşen Waterfall, Harmankaya Nature Park was declared a nature park in 2011 and later expanded to 3.6 hectares; a small but distinctive protected area. Despite its small surface area, it is one of the most beloved nature stops on Yalova's thermal tourism route. The entire area is covered with pure beech forest and forms a fine example of the Yalova-Samanlı forest type. In autumn, the golden and copper hues of the beech leaves give the park a veritable visual feast. Besides the bear, whose population in the Marmara region is quite limited, the park is home to species such as the wolf, jackal, fox, hare and wild boar, which raises its conservation value. Visitors coming from the thermal springs stop at Harmankaya on their walks to Sudüşen Waterfall. The park is 18 km from Yalova city center and 6 km from the Termal district center. The best period to explore its nature is between April and November, especially October and November, when the autumn colors can be caught.
