Hazar Gölü Tabiat Parkı
Stretching along the shore of Lake Hazar within the boundaries of Güney Village in Elazığ's Sivrice district, Hazar Gölü Nature Park is an area of approximately 22.51 hectares declared in 2011. Taking its name from Lake Hazar, on whose shore it lies, the park combines forest and water habitats and is a tranquil resting spot far from the noise of the city. The area's flora consists of young and middle-aged forest trees; conifers such as black pine, cedar, Scots pine and cypress stand together with broad-leaved species such as plane, acacia, almond, maple and ash. Its lakeside location also diversifies the fauna: on land, species such as the woodpecker, goldfinch, squirrel and fox are observed, while on the water, duck species, the ruddy shelduck, cormorant, coot and grebes stand out. The park draws strong interest from day visitors and also serves with overnight accommodation units. Walking routes, birdwatching and rowboat trips along the lakeshore are the main activities. It is 22 km from Elazığ city center and only 5 km from the Sivrice district center.
