Kartal Gölü Tabiatı Koruma Alanı
The Kartal Gölü Nature Conservation Area is a protected area of 1,343 hectares located on a glacial valley near the summit of Çiçekbaba Mountain in the Köyceğiz district of Muğla. Declared a nature conservation area in 1994, the site harbors a monumental forest formed by old black pine individuals and, in the same basin, Kartal Gölü, lying in the alpine zone. The area, of high natural value, is under strict protection status. Unauthorized entry into the Kartal Gölü Nature Conservation Area is prohibited; before visiting, information should be obtained from the authorized units and the protection rules must be observed. Harboring rich forest texture and wildlife, the area can be experienced for nature walks and nature excursions only within the framework of permits and protection rules.
