Located on the seashore in the Merkez district of Bartın province, Kızılkum Plajı is a public swimming area 1200 meters long and 150 meters wide. The shore is sand and the seabed is sand. During the swimming season between June 15 and September 15, it has a daily capacity of approximately 1500 people. Entry is free and the beach is open every day between 10:00 and 20:00. The area has 2 showers, 2 changing cabins and 2 washbasins. 5 kiosks/food and drink points serve visitors. 2 lifeguards are on duty, first aid supplies are available and there is a flag warning system.
