Marmaris Milli Parkı
Covering 29,206 hectares on the Reşadiye Peninsula in Southwest Anatolia, in the Marmaris district of Muğla, Marmaris National Park was declared in 1996. Extending from Bakla Bükü in the south to Ekincik Burnu in the east, the park surrounds the Marmaris district center. The park's forest formation is made up of Turkish red pine; the endemic oriental sweetgum spreads across deep, moist, heavy-soiled lowlands. Within the valleys, the red pine mixes with oak, plane and alder, offering striking landscapes. Mediterranean plants such as holm oak and kermes oak, wild olive, strawberry tree, carob, oleander and laurel also spread over wide areas. Floristic studies have identified 724 plant taxa in the area, 64 of which were found to be endemic. The park, 60 km from the Muğla provincial center, is reached via the D400 highway; access by sea is also possible. With hiking routes, scenic viewpoints and boat trips, nature and the sea are experienced together.
