Sera Gölü Tabiat Parkı
Located about 12 km from the center of Trabzon and only 3 km from the Akçaabat coast, Sera Gölü Nature Park was declared in 2010, with its boundaries set at approximately 22 hectares. With its lake hidden among greenery, it is one of the region's beloved recreation spots. Sera Lake is a landslide lake formed in 1950 when rocks that broke off from the Derecik Valley after heavy rains blocked the valley floor. The lake, whose width varies between 150 and 200 meters, reaches lengths of up to 500 meters in places. Around it lies rich vegetation formed by trees such as chestnut, oak, linden, hornbeam and beech. Along the lakeshore, hiking, cycling routes, rowboat trips and scenery watching are possible; the tourist facilities in the surroundings meet visitors' needs. The park is reached by turning south from the Yıldızlı neighborhood, 5 km from Akçaabat, and continuing about 2 km along the Sera stream.
