Subaşı Havuzlar Tabiat Anıtı
The Subaşı-Havuzlar Çınarı Natural Monument, located in Subaşı village in the Çatalca district of Istanbul, was declared a natural monument in 1995. The area, consisting of two plane trees of monumental character with their physical and historical features, is said to date back to well before the founding of the village. The trees, of the Oriental plane species, reach 792 years of age. Defying the centuries, these magnificent plane trees offer a quiet spot of discovery where nature and history intertwine; the monumental trees can be seen up close on short nature strolls in the surroundings.
