Sürmene Çamburnu Tabiat Parkı
Çamburnu in Trabzon's Sürmene district appears in the world's scientific literature as the place where the Scots pine descends to the seashore. Declared a nature park in 2011 owing to this rare feature and its unique landscape character, the area covers 5.33 hectares. In the park, shaped by the humid climate of the Black Sea, the dominant tree species is Scots pine, with oriental spruce as the second species. These are accompanied by species such as alder, chestnut, hornbeam, wild cherry, rhododendron and hazel. With its biodiversity in need of protection and its coastal forest texture, it is an important part of the region's natural heritage. In addition to nature walks, scenic viewing and day-trip recreation, visitors can enjoy events showcasing local products as well as gastronomic experiences. Located on the Trabzon-Rize highway, the park is 7 km from Sürmene and 36 km from Trabzon city center.
