Ayvalık Adaları Tabiat Parkı
Located in the Ayvalık district of Balıkesir, at the intersection of the Marmara and Aegean regions, Ayvalık Islands Nature Park is a vast protected area of 19,624 hectares that gained nature park status in 1995. Encompassing 21 islands such as Alibey (Cunda), Pınar, Çıplak and Güneş, the park is a unique coastal ecosystem largely made up of marine area. Its rich flora, intertwined with olive groves and the traditional architectural style, makes the park one of the region's most important recreation areas both naturally and culturally. Within the framework of controlled-use principles, it allows sustainable activities such as nature hiking, cycling, rowing-boat trips, nature photography and scenic viewing. The park, about 8.5 km from the Ayvalık district center, is reached via the E-87 (D-550) highway. Cunda Island can be reached by private car over the Alibey Bridge, and access is also possible by shared minibuses running from Ayvalık center toward Cunda. The nearest airport is Balıkesir Koca Seyit Airport, 41 km away.
