Balıklı ve Güneşli Şelaleleri Tabiat Parkı
Declared in 2017, Balıklı and Güneşli Waterfalls Nature Park is a 173-hectare pristine natural area located in Artvin's Hopa district, within the boundaries of the villages of Güneşli and Balıklı. The park's most important resource value and attraction are the waterfalls that give the area its name; the Güneşli waterfall and the Güneşli stream constitute the region's principal hydrological richness. With its entirely natural character wrapped in rhododendron, alder, hazel and beech species, the park is home to species such as bear, wolf, hare and badger. The area, which has no roads other than footpaths, is suitable for trekking, mountaineering and wilderness hikes. The waterfalls are reached on foot after driving to the villages; the best period to visit the park is between May and October, and the scenery is especially impressive in the spring months, when the waterfalls' flow peaks.
