The Kamilet Oriental Beech Natural Monument, located in the Kamilet locality of Erenköy village in Artvin's Murgul district, was placed under protection in 2002. At the center of this monument, which covers an area of only 1,000 square meters, stands a magnificent Oriental beech tree approximately 300 years old. With its height of 42 meters, trunk diameter of 3.08 meters and circumference of 9.70 meters, this old beech is one of the region's most impressive natural assets. Within the surrounding Eastern Black Sea forest fabric, it forms an intriguing stop for nature trips and walks.
