Belemedik Tabiat Parkı
Declared in 2014 and covering 4,349 hectares, Belemedik Nature Park is located in the Pozantı district of Adana, in the heart of the Taurus Mountains. The Çakıt Stream, which draws the area's western boundary, the rocky ecosystems belonging to Akdağ that cover its north, and the rich forest cover accompanying them constitute the park's main resource values. The vegetation changes at every elevation, ranging from the association of Turkish red pine and maquis to mixed forests of Taurus cedar, Taurus fir, black pine and Syrian juniper, and from there to mountain steppes. Home to a fauna in which the wild goat stands out, the area presents a distinctive landscape with its completely pristine nature and varied topography. The German Cemetery, which completes the historical fabric, is also among the places worth seeing. This valley on the banks of the Çakıt Stream is suitable for hiking, cycling tours, rock climbing, angling, scenery watching and tent camping. The area offers overnight lodging, security and day-use facilities. The park is 9 km from Pozantı district center and 117 km from Adana city center.
