Danamandıra Tabiat Parkı
Located in Istanbul's Silivri district, southwest of the Danamandıra neighborhood, Danamandıra Nature Park was declared a nature park in 2015. Surrounded by state forests with its 381-hectare area, the park is 27 km from the Marmara coast and 20 km from the Black Sea coast. The park is dominated mostly by deciduous oak forests, and wetlands also occupy an important place; these areas, covered with plants such as reeds, irises and water lilies, form rich vegetation together with the meadows and clearings along their edges. Species such as Hungarian oak, hawthorn, cherry laurel, linden and hazelnut complete the texture of the area. Offering a short nature escape from the city thanks to its proximity to Istanbul, the park is well suited for nature walks, tour routes, cycling and adventure tourism. The park is reached by private vehicle by leaving the Anadolu Motorway at the Çatalca junction and passing through the neighborhoods of Subaşı, İhsaniye and Gümüşpınar.
