Katrancı Koyu Tabiat Parkı
Declared a nature park in 2011, Katrancı Koyu Nature Park is located in Muğla's Fethiye district, within the Fethiye-Göcek Special Environmental Protection Zone. It contains three coves; Katrancı Koyu, which gives the park its name, as well as Mersinli Koyu and Kızlar Koyu; with its forest cover, sea and natural landscape values, it is a focus of interest for a great number of visitors. Roughly two thirds of the area is covered by a forest ecosystem, while the secondary cover is a maquis ecosystem. Turkish red pine, holm oak, tamarisk, lily, iris and oriental sweetgum trees, as well as Mediterranean maquis flora, are found here. In and around the park, species such as squirrel, hedgehog, wild boar, Eurasian jay, blackbird and tortoise can be observed. Suitable for tent camping, day recreation and nature walks, the park contains an administrative building, five car parks, two shopping units, a scenic viewing terrace, showers, toilets and dishwashing areas. Located on the D400 highway, 14 km from Fethiye center in the direction of Muğla, the park is easily reached by public transport.
