Küçük Kargı Tabiat Parkı
Located in Muğla's Fethiye district, Küçük Kargı Nature Park was registered as a recreation area in 2008 and then declared a nature park in 2011. Situated within the Fethiye-Göcek Special Environmental Protection Zone, the park stands out with its sweetgum forest, its sea and its natural landscape values. Approximately three quarters of the park is covered by a forest ecosystem, and the dominant species is the Anatolian sweetgum, one of our country's important endemics; this tree alone covers more than half of the area. The secondary ecosystem is the dunes. Alongside sweetgum, red pine, oleander, myrtle and Mediterranean maquis, squirrels, hedgehogs, jays, hoopoes and various reptile species live in the region; 62 plant species, 13 reptile and frog species and 11 bird species can be observed in the area. Ideal for hiking, scenic viewing and day recreation, the park offers a country restaurant, a kiosk, gazebos, a parking lot, showers, toilets and changing cabins. The park, about 16 km from Fethiye center in the direction of Muğla, can be reached by public transport; after getting off at the road junction on the highway, there is a walk of about 700 meters.
