Ömer Eşen Tabiat Parkı
Located in the Fethiye district of Muğla, Ömer Eşen Nature Park was arranged as an in-forest recreation site in 2003 and declared a nature park in 2011. Situated within the Fethiye-Göcek Special Environmental Protection Area, the park offers a favorable setting for recreation with its country houses, its sea, and its natural landscape. The red pine forest covering 54 percent of the park forms the dominant ecosystem, with a dune ecosystem in second place. In addition to red pine, oriental sweetgum, oleander, myrtle, and Mediterranean maquis flora, species such as squirrel, hedgehog, wild boar, jay, blackbird, and tortoise can be observed in the area. In total, 62 plant species and numerous reptile, mammal, and bird species have been recorded. The park, about 16 km from Fethiye center in the direction of Muğla, can be reached by public transport; taking the line 3-50 vehicles departing from Köyler Garajı, you get off at the road junction and walk about 700 meters to reach the entrance gate. The area has a country restaurant, numerous country houses, a scenic viewing terrace, a parking lot, and shower and changing cabins.
