Soğuksu Tabiat Parkı (Kars)
Declared a nature park in 2011, the 11-hectare Soğuksu Nature Park is located in the Sarıkamış district of Kars, within the boundaries of the Sarıkamış Tourism Center. The high-altitude Scots pine forests of Eastern Anatolia are the area's main resource value; the undergrowth, enriched by species such as poppy, violet, wild carnation and knotweed, hosts the region's typical forest fauna. The park offers well-organized infrastructure suitable for day recreation and comfortably accommodates medium-intensity weekend visits. Hiking and cycling on the forest trails are the most enjoyable ways to explore the surroundings. Thanks to Sarıkamış being an important ski center, the park is a two-season destination combining skiing in winter and hiking in summer; the most suitable period for walking is between May and September. The park, about 51 km from the Kars city center and 4 km from the Sarıkamış district center, is reached by traveling to Sarıkamış on the Kars-Erzurum highway and continuing along the divided road.
