Cemal Tural Tabiat Parkı
Cemal Tural Nature Park is a 51-hectare protected area in the Merkez district of Ardahan, located across from the Yenisey Campus of Ardahan University. Declared a nature park in 2011, the area takes its name from Cemal Tural, the 13th Chief of the General Staff of the Republic of Turkey. The park's vegetation is dominated by natural Scots pine forest and birch trees. In the surrounding wildlife, mammals such as roe deer, brown bear, wolf, lynx, wild boar, red squirrel and fox are observed together with bird species such as sparrowhawk, buzzard, lesser spotted eagle, kestrel and little owl. In the landscaped day-use area there are fountains, gazebos, toilets, a children's playground and fire pits for visitors. Generally preferred for picnics in the spring and summer months, the park is also suitable for activities such as hiking and cycling tours. Shared minibuses departing from the center pass in front of the area, which is about 9 km from the Ardahan provincial center.
