Çitdere Tabiatı Koruma Alanı
Stretching across the Yenice, Merkez and Eskipazar districts of Karabük in the Western Black Sea region, the 730.5-hectare Çitdere Nature Conservation Area, placed under protection in 1987, is an untouched forest. Located southwest of the Karabük provincial center, the site is one of the most valuable protected areas reflecting the rich biodiversity of the Yenice forests. The dense vegetation formed by alder, hornbeam, hazel, boxwood, spruce and black pine provides shelter for numerous frog, lizard, snake and bird species. This pristine texture turns the area into a special route for hiking and nature observation. The conservation area is reached via a village road branching off the D300 highway toward Zonguldak from the Karabük provincial center, passing through the villages of Şenler, Sipahiler and Karaağaç and then following the Sorgun Yaylası route.
