Çorak (Bayındır) Gölü
Located in the village of Bayındır in Burdur's Yeşilova district, Çorak Gölü was placed under protection in 2016 as a wetland of approximately 7,892 hectares. Shallow and seasonal in character, the lake periodically fills with water and recedes, and together with the surrounding steppe and sparse scrub it harbors a distinctive natural balance. The lake and its surroundings are home to rich wildlife, above all waterbirds; endemic plant species particular to the area also make it interesting for science and nature enthusiasts. Birdwatching, photography and cycling trips on the surrounding routes allow visitors to spend time amid tranquil nature. In season, the light reflecting on the water and the open stretches along the shore offer a peaceful setting for hikes and short tours.
