Derebağ Şelalesi Tabiat Parkı
Located in the Çağlayan neighborhood of Derebağ in the Yahyalı district of Kayseri, in a valley surrounded by mountains on three sides, Derebağ Şelalesi Nature Park gained nature park status in 2011. At this point where the Central Taurus Mountains extend toward Central Anatolia and where the Mediterranean and Central Anatolia regions meet, forested and steep rocky terrain surrounds the area. The Aladağlar snowmelt waters emerging from two caves in the steep cliffs to the south of the park turn into a clear waterfall plunging from a height of about 30 meters. Flowing at a high volume from mid-spring until autumn, the waterfall weakens in the winter months. The highest section, where the scenic viewpoint is located, reaches an altitude of 1430 meters. Oak, willow, plane and walnut make up the area's vegetation. Well suited for day trips into nature, walking and cycling, the park is reached via the Kayseri-Develi and Kayseri-Niğde roads. It is 9.5 km from the town center of Yahyalı; it takes 15-20 minutes to get there from the town. As there is no public transport, a taxi from Yahyalı may be preferred. Park entry is charged: pedestrian entry is 60 TL per day and car entry is 180 TL. The area is open to visitors every day between 08:00 and 22:00.
