Elmasburnu Tabiat Parkı
Located on the Riva coast in the Beykoz district of İstanbul, Elmasburnu Nature Park was declared in 2011 and covers an area of about 13.3 hectares. In this area dominated by maquis vegetation, dune and forest ecosystems intertwine; plants such as Turkish red pine, maritime pine, oak species, strawberry tree and Mediterranean laurel grow here. Elmasburnu Beach, inside the park, is one of Riva's three beaches. With its changing cabins and showers, it allows not only swimming but also water sports. The site has picnic units, a tent camping area, a country restaurant and a snack kiosk. Alongside species such as deer, roe deer, fox and squirrel, it hosts a rich diversity of birds owing to its position on the Bosphorus bird migration route. It is reached via the road running from Kavacık to Riva off the TEM motorway. Riva Castle in the vicinity is among the places recommended for a visit. Care should be taken around the high cliffs.
