Eriklitepe Tabiat Parkı
Declared in 2011, Eriklitepe Nature Park is a protected natural area in the Gölcük district of Kocaeli, covered entirely by a pure beech forest. In the park, whose upper canopy consists entirely of beech trees, the understory is spread with rhododendron, ferns, strawberry tree, and various herbaceous species. Home to species such as the buzzard, woodpecker, roe deer, wild boar, and fox, the area welcomes nature lovers in all four seasons. The park offers the chance to stay overnight in nature with bungalow-style country houses and a tent camping area; food and drink are served at the country restaurant. The adventure course, featuring 29 separate activities, gives visitors the opportunity for climbing-focused fun, while the roughly 2-kilometre walking trail provides an oxygen-rich nature walk accompanied by birdsong. A children's playground, a scenic viewing tower, and local product sales units where the people of the region sell their ecological products are also within the area. It is located at about the 6th kilometre after the neighbourhood, on the concrete road passing through the İrşadiye neighbourhood of Gölcük.
