Frig Vadisi Tabiat Parkı
Stretching through Afyonkarahisar's İhsaniye district, Frig Vadisi Nature Park has rich vegetation in which black pine forests, herbaceous species such as thyme and milkvetch, and juniper and rockrose shrubs intertwine. More than 855 plant species belonging to 80 families have been identified across the valley; with species such as the fox, wild boar, wolf, buzzard, and eagle, the area is also lively in terms of fauna. The park's true magic lies hidden in its cultural heritage of thousands of years. Rock monuments and altars from the Phrygian period, and rock settlements, burial chambers, and church ruins from the Roman and Byzantine eras show that the region was home to different civilisations. Fairy chimneys, formed as the volcanic tuff structure was shaped by erosion, can be seen at various points in the valley. Open for day use, the park has gazebos, toilets, a children's playground, and a kiosk. It is a suitable nature route for nature walks, cycling and horseback rides, photo safaris, and flora and fauna observation.
