Huzurlu Tabiat Parkı
Located at the Huzurlu Yaylası site in Gaziantep's İslahiye district, Huzurlu Nature Park was declared a nature park in 2021. Notable for its humid forests, the plateau is special for harboring the southernmost populations in Turkey of species such as oriental beech, fir, hornbeam, yew and boxwood, which normally range across the Eastern Black Sea and Central Europe. In Huzurlu Yaylası and its surroundings, 1,580 plant species have been recorded, 251 of them endemic to Turkey. Taurus fir, Taurus cedar, Anatolian black pine, oriental beech, plane-leaved maple, common yew and oriental plane are among the principal trees of this rich cover. The cool plateau air and highly varied vegetation make the park well suited to forest walks, nature tours and cycling. When setting out on the road about 31 km from the center of İslahiye, it is wise to take precautions against snow and ice in the winter months on the final 10 km section of steep, winding road.
