Tekkoz-Kengerlidüz Tabiatı Koruma Alanı
Tekkoz-Kengerlidüz Nature Conservation Area is a rare forest ecosystem of about 2,425 decares consisting of two separate sections. The Tekkoz section lies in the Erzin district of Hatay, while the Kengerlidüz section is in the central district of Osmaniye. The area's most remarkable feature is that it hosts the world's southernmost beech stands; in this respect it is a unique piece of nature worthy of protection. Home to beech and Turkey oak trees as well as many endemic plants unique to the Amanos Mountains, the area stands out with its rich flora. Its fauna includes species such as wolf, wild boar and roe deer. With no facilities and its untouched character, it is well suited to hiking and nature observation. The Erzin district is 108 km from the Hatay city center; the main access to the area is via the Adana-Hatay E-91 Highway.
