Isparta Gölcük Tabiat Parkı
Isparta Gölcük Nature Park is a vast 4,983-hectare protected area in the Western Mediterranean Region, within the boundaries of Isparta's Merkez district, about 12 km southwest of the city center. The area gained nature park status in 1991, and its boundaries were most recently redrawn by a Presidential Decree in 2023. Stretching between elevations of 1350 and 2270 meters, the park brings together a unique lake-forest-mountain landscape, diverse ecosystems, endemic flora and important fauna species. Gölcük Lake is a rare geomorphological formation: together with the Nemrut caldera, it is one of Turkey's two calderas and the only caldera in Western Anatolia. The Muharrem Dede and Andık Dede Tombs, in turn, add cultural depth to the area. Observation areas at the park's vantage points allow scenic viewing, while activities such as hiking, nature tours, cycling, birdwatching and boat rides on the lake offer visitors alternative tourism opportunities.
