Karataş Nature Park, standing out with its seaside location in the Karataş district of Adana, is a protected area of 29.87 hectares declared in 2011. It is about 2 km from the district center and 49 km from the city center of Adana. The park offers a rich recreational setting with its extensive forest cover and coastal scenery. Within the Mediterranean maquis vegetation are species such as Turkish red pine, kermes oak, myrtle, carob, Mediterranean laurel and oleander; jackals, foxes, hedgehogs and porcupines make up the site's wildlife. The park features a visitor information center, a country restaurant, country houses, forest chalets, rain shelters, a kiosk, a children's playground, shower and changing units, picnic units, and tent and caravan camping areas. Nature walks and trekking are possible on the existing trails; tent camping, caravan camping, day picnics, orienteering, scenic viewing and nature education are among the activities the park offers.
