Korugöl Tabiat Parkı
Spread over an area of 30.78 hectares within the boundaries of Düzce's Kaynaşlı district, Korugöl Nature Park was opened as a recreation area in 2004 and declared a nature park in 2011. It takes its name from the roughly 4.87-hectare pond located in the middle of the forest surrounding the area; formed by damming a small stream, this pond offers tranquility among beech, oak and hornbeam trees. The park is covered with dense vegetation in which black pine, Scots pine, maritime pine, fir, chestnut and rhododendron intertwine. This rich forest texture creates an ideal environment for walking and nature tours; along the paths and forest roads around the pond, it is possible to hike, cycle and go on photo safaris. Korugöl is 14 km from Düzce city center and only 7 km from the TEM Kaynaşlı exit. The park is reached via the Üçköprü village route branching off the D-100 highway; the last 4-kilometer section is an asphalt road.
