Kula Peribacaları Tabiat Anıtı
Located in Manisa's Kula district, the 152-hectare Kula Fairy Chimneys were declared a natural monument in 2012 due to the features created by natural events and their scientific value. Combining geological, archaeological, natural and cultural riches, Kula is regarded as one of the notable regions of Turkey and the world. The badlands topography found among the volcanic formations of the region and the fairy chimneys, an element of this structure, constitute the source value of the natural monument. The area lies within the Kula Volcanic Geopark, which was admitted to the UNESCO Geoparks Network in 2013. Used by domestic and foreign visitors for nature tourism, the area is a suitable destination for geotourism, hiking, scenic viewing, scientific tours and photo safaris. The ancient cities and cycling routes in the surrounding area also enrich the sightseeing options.
