Uzungöl Tabiat Parkı
Uzungöl, declared a nature park in 1989 and covering 1,625 hectares, is a natural wonder in the southeast of Trabzon, within the Çaykara district. The natural landslide-dammed lake is one of the region's most popular spots with the steep mountains surrounding it and its unique landscape that changes with every season. Forests dominated by oriental spruce and oriental beech intertwine with 157 plant species and rich wildlife. Alongside species such as bearded alder, Anatolian chestnut, fir, and yew, the streamsides, forest interiors, and alpine meadows host different plant communities. Visitors can walk around the lake, go on boat rides, and spend time with nature tours, mountain biking, and wildlife observation. The park, approximately 99 km from Trabzon city center and 19 km from the Çaykara district, is reached via the Of-Çaykara road. The nearest airport is Trabzon Airport, 97 km away.
