Ayıkayası Tabiat Parkı
Located at a commanding point of the Bolu mountains, Ayıkayası Nature Park was declared in 2014 with 248 hectares and reached 446 hectares in later years through a boundary revision. Notable for its karstic geological structure and unique scenery, the park offers wide areas suitable for rest and recreation. In the rich vegetation formed by natural beech and Scots pine forests together with mixed fir stands, 462 species have been identified, 30 of which stand out as endemic or endangered species. Thanks to its location on the migration routes stretching from Europe to Asia and Africa, the park provides shelter and breeding opportunities for many forest-dependent animal species and has a rich fauna. After barbecues and picnics with fire were banned in the neighboring Yedigöller National Park, interest in the park increased, and visitor crowds have begun to appear especially on weekends. The park, about 28 km from the city center of Bolu, is reached by road via the main access road of Yedigöller National Park.
