Ballık Köyü Sediri Tabiat Anıtı
Rising in the Ağıllıpınar locality of Ballık Village in Burdur's Altınyayla district, the Çatal Sedir was declared a nature monument in 2002. This approximately 530-year-old Taurus cedar (Cedrus libani), with its height of 49 meters and trunk circumference of 7.22 meters, is a magnificent monumental tree defying the ages. The tree stands within a mixed forest where black pine and cedar intertwine. In the surrounding region, rich in wildlife, mammals such as wild boar, jackal, fox, hedgehog and marten can be observed, along with bird species such as chukar partridge, sparrowhawk, buzzard, kestrel and falcon. A tranquil stop for nature hiking and nature tours, this monumental tree offers a peaceful resting point amid centuries-old cedar forests.
