Yazır Gölü
Registered in 2016, the 2,705-hectare Yazır Lake Wetland is an area of rich biodiversity stretching south of the village of Yazır in Burdur's Çavdır district. With 867 plant taxa belonging to 85 families recorded, the area is a recreation spot beloved by the people of Burdur for its attractive flora and natural walking paths. The wetland is especially valuable for birdwatchers: in addition to 185 bird species from 49 families, fish, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals live here. The endangered white-headed duck and Egyptian vulture, the Burdur killifish; an endemic fish unique to Burdur; and an endemic water snail are among this area's natural treasures. With terrain suitable for hiking, trekking, orienteering, and cycling, the surroundings of Yazır Lake also offer ample opportunities for those wishing to do photo safaris and wildlife watching.
