Karamık Köyü Sediri Tabiat Anıtı
The Karamık Köyü Cedar, located within the Çığlıkara Nature Conservation Area in Antalya's Elmalı district, is a monumental Lebanon cedar declared a natural monument in 1995. Covering an area of only 0.25 hectares, this spot was deemed worthy of protection for the splendor of a single tree. The tree, also known as Koca Katran, is 670 years old; with its height of 26.5 meters and trunk diameter of 1.75 meters, it is a rare example of its age, size and extraordinary development. Rising among the cedar forests of Çığlıkara, this giant is a living witness of the region's natural heritage. The area where the tree stands has nature conservation area status and is devoted primarily to scientific research. The cedar can be reached from Elmalı by private vehicle via Karamık Mahallesi, at the Suluçukur locality.
