Şah Ardıç Tabiat Anıtı
Located in the Elmalı district of Antalya, within the Çığlıkara Nature Conservation Area, the Şah Ardıç Natural Monument is a small but unique protected area of 0.25 hectares, declared in 1995. The leading role here belongs to a magnificent stinking juniper (Juniperus foetidissima) tree whose age reaches 996 years. With its height of 22.8 meters and diameter of 2.42 meters, Şah Ardıç draws attention both for its size and for its extraordinary development. Since it lies within the boundaries of the Cedar Research Forest, the area is used mainly for educational and scientific purposes; for visitors, it offers the opportunity to see the monumental presence of a centuries-old tree. To reach the area, one first travels to the Elmalı district and then by private vehicle to Göltarla Mahallesi, Işıkbeli Mevkii, where this monumental tree can be seen.
