Çığlıkara Tabiatı Koruma Alanı
Stretching between Antalya's Elmalı district and the districts of Finike and Kaş, the 15,564-hectare Çığlıkara Nature Conservation Area, placed under protection in 1991, is a unique ecosystem known for its cedar forests. The dense forest cover formed by Greek juniper, foetid juniper, Taurus cedar, Turkish red pine and kermes oak reflects the region's high natural value. In addition to the endemic Anatolian viper, the area is home to rare species such as lynx, caracal, wild boar, eastern imperial eagle and Krüper's nuthatch. This rich biodiversity alone demonstrates the site's scientific importance. Due to its protection status, entry to and exit from the area are prohibited; it may only be visited with special permits for scientific and educational purposes. For this reason, there are no facilities on the site and nature has been left to itself.
