Bayraktepe Tabiat Parkı (Ziyarete Kapalı)
NOTE: It is closed to visitors due to landslide risk. Before planning a visit, it is recommended that you verify the situation with the Samsun DKMP Branch Directorate. Declared in 2015 and covering 132 hectares, Bayraktepe Nature Park is located in the Tekkeköy district of Samsun and takes its name from the Turkish Flag within it. The entirely forested area has a rich flora and fauna. Alongside Turkish red pine and cedar, broad-leaved species such as beech, hornbeam, oak, ash, chestnut, alder and hazel give the forest its character. In the park, where foxes, jackals, hares and squirrels roam, it is possible to observe birds such as hawks, goldfinches and magpies. The trails and paths within the forest are suitable for short and long walks. The park allows hiking, cycling tours, photo safaris, picnicking, and plant and wildlife observation. The area also has a masjid, a country restaurant, a kiosk and children's playgrounds. The park is 10 km from Samsun city center and 4 km from Tekkeköy district center; the nearest airport is Çarşamba Airport, 15 km away. From Samsun city center, head in the direction of Kirazlık, and after passing the Lovelet shopping mall, turn right and follow the direction signs.
