Kapıçam Tabiat Parkı
Declared a nature park in 2008, the approximately 179-hectare Kapıçam Nature Park takes its name from the pure stone pines and old Turkish red pines on the site. Located 13 km from Kahramanmaraş city center, the park hosts a rich flora and fauna dominated by Turkish red pine, stone pine and black pine. 252 plant taxa belonging to 51 families have been identified in the area, 28 of which are endemic species unique to Turkey. About 10 hectares of the park have been laid out as a botanical garden. Here lies an important collection of native and exotic tree species such as ginkgo, Anatolian sweetgum, southern magnolia and Oriental alder. Squirrels, foxes, black francolins and various bird species can be observed in the surrounding forests. The day-use areas are suitable for picnicking; the park has a children's playground, a country restaurant and open-air event areas. The trails within the forest offer pleasant routes for hiking and cycling. The main entrance gate is located on the Kahramanmaraş-Gaziantep road.
