Kocakoru Ormanı Tabiat Parkı
Declared a nature park in 1998, the 330.79-hectare Kocakoru Forest lies within the boundaries of Taraşçı mahallesi in the Seydişehir district of Konya, on the north-facing foothills of the Taurus Mountains. With its rich vegetation and scenic integrity, it is a protected area well suited to relaxation and day trips. The vegetation, of steppe-forest character, is dominated by Anatolian black pine and Taurus fir along with oak and juniper species. Home to rich wildlife with its rocky areas, the park shelters large mammals such as the brown bear, lynx, wolf, wild goat, and wild boar, as well as 38 bird species. The golden eagle, goshawk, and sparrowhawk are among these birds. In the park, whose topography offers viewpoints from different angles, panoramic vistas can be enjoyed toward the east. The area is reached via the district of Seydişehir.
