Suadiye Tabiat Parkı
Declared in 2011, Suadiye Nature Park is a rich recreation area located at 1,000 meters altitude in the Samanlı mountains, in the Kartepe district of Kocaeli. In the area dominated mostly by pure beech forest, species such as black pine, fir, chestnut, hornbeam, oak and plane complete the natural vegetation; red deer, roe deer, wild boar, fox and various birds of prey make up the area's fauna. Its proximity to the Kartepe tourism center makes the park stand out for nature tourism. It offers day picnic areas and a favorable setting for hiking and cycling on forest walking trails. Watching the surroundings from the scenic viewpoint is one of the most enjoyable moments of a visit. The area has an administrative building, local product sales units, WC, a prayer room, a children's play unit and picnic tables. Close to dense settlements such as Istanbul, Sakarya and Bursa, the park is 34 km from central İzmit, 44 km from Sakarya and 130 km from Istanbul. The area is reached by an approximately 10 km road from Suadiye Mahallesi in the Kartepe district, following the direction signs.
